2006 5K Walk / Run For the Cure
Thank you to our fantastic sponsors: Rochester Running Room, Celgene Corporation, Think Federal Credit Union, Advance Chiropractic, Olive Juice Studios, Laser 101.7, KROC-AM, Insty-Prints, First National Bank Plainview, and KTTC TV. Running room gift certificates ($50 for 1st place, $25 for 2nd place, and $10 for 3rd place) were presented to the top three men and women racers. The 1st prize package was a value of over $200 and included the following: products from Tastefully Simple courtesy of TS Demonstrator Cathy Pickett, a Flush Out Blood Cancer t-shirt from the MMCF, a beautiful bread basket from the Great Harvest Bread Company, Culver's gift certificates for two basket meals and two sundaes, one $20 Green Mill gift certificate, one $50 Running Room gift certificate, two tickets to the John Hassler Theater in Plainview, and two tickets to Goonie's Comedy Club in Rochester. The MMCF started a new tradition for this second annual event. We
offered not only a walk to save lives, but also a 5K run to save lives.
The event was held at beautiful Essex Park in Rochester, MN. Tracy
McCray from the Tracy McCray Show on KROC-AM did a fantastic job as our
emcee. Speakers included Dr. Phillip Greipp from Mayo Clinic, Jennifer
Feinberg from Celgene Corporation, and MMCF founder Eve Friedli. Thanks
to all who attended, we were able to donate $12,000 to Mayo Clinic for
blood cancer research!
Prizes were also given to the people
that brought in the highest donation amounts.
